RUSTOFF 255 is a solvent-based rust preventive compound designed for the protection of ferrous metal surfaces. Its formulation contains preferential wetting agents and corrosion inhibitors dissolved in volatile solvents, helping provide effective protection during storage and handling.
The product forms a greasy, adherent, non-drying, non-mobile and self-healing film with a typical thickness of 0.004–0.010 mm, depending on drainage, application method and application temperature.
RUSTOFF 255 can be applied by dipping, flooding, spraying or brushing. It is suitable for sheet metal, automobile parts washed in water, machined and ground components, and finished components. It can also be used on decorative micro-cracked Nickel-Chromium electro-coatings to enhance their protection against corrosion.
